Daniel Francis Nolan is a journalist and editor specialising in Hungary and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), with over two decades of reporting experience across international media. A former correspondent for The Guardian, Daniel has covered politics, elections, media and culture in CEE and Southeast Asia. His work has appeared in outlets including the BBC, VICE, The Daily Telegraph, The Globe and Mail and Index on Censorship, and he has produced television and radio reporting for Al Jazeera, PBS and Deutsche Welle.

Daniel was editor-in-chief of Central European Times for over three years, overseeing political, economic and cultural coverage across 18 countries, and managing a network of correspondents. His reporting has been recognised by the European Press Prize (2016, 2019) and the London Foreign Press Association Award (2018). He also contributed to the European Commission’s Strengthening Journalism project and is the author of the art/shop/eat Blue Guide to Rome.
